Blasko

Margaret M. "Marge" Blasko, 84, of Butler, formerly of Whippo Avenue, died Thursday at ACMH in Kittanning.

Born Aug. 30, 1924, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of Stephan "Steve" and Anna Olexa Yamnitsky.

She was a homemaker and was formerly employed as a practical nurse at Vincentian Home in McCandless Township.

She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also was a member of the Bereavement Group of Saint Michael's, the 55 and Alive of Saint Michael's, and the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph G. Blasko Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Butler and Robert S. Blasko and his wife, Dana, of Howell, Mich.; a daughter, Georgiana Toy and her husband, Kenneth, of Kittanning; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Semes of Butler and Mrs. Mary Dimmick of Butler; five grandchildren, Laura Weaver of Dayton, Ohio, Jeff Toy of Monroeville, Jennifer Van Dalen of Clarks Summit, Jeremy Blasko of Butler and Drew Blasko of Butler; and three great-granddaughters, Alena Weaver of Dayton, Ohio, Kaylee Van Dalen of Clarks Summit, and Ashlyn Van Dalen of Clarks Summit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Blasko Sr., who died March 23, 2007; four brothers, and a sister.

"Marge" Blasko, who died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Butler, with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.Members of the Bereavement Group of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home for a Scriptural Wake Service.Information is available at www.martinfh.net.
