Clarifying my position for Marcie: a 2-3 month old infant and a gestationally mature fetus have one major difference between them that Marcie neglects--one is physiologically connected and resides within a person while the other is individuated. Rights apply only after the fetus is delivered and is physically no longer connected to the woman in whom it gestated. Marcie's comments regarding the semantics I use do not have an impact on the argument I make, but clearly are meant as an appeal to emotion given that "baby" has the ability to evoke an emotional context that "fetus" does not.
