10-year-old girl severely injured in Rt. 422 crash
FRANKLIN TWP — A 10-year-old girl was severely injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash near Mt. Chestnut.
A tractor-trailer driven by Fremiet Colomer, 52, of Miami, Fla., about 5 p.m. collided with a van driven by Minnetta Bowman, 50, of Butler at the intersection of Route 422 and Eagle Mill Road.
State police in Butler said Colomer was unable to stop on Route 422 at a red light as he was headed east. He collided with the driver's side of Bowman's vehicle, which was headed north on Eagle Mill.
Road conditions contributed to the crash, police said.
Bowman, who suffered moderate injuries, and her 10-year-old passenger were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Colomer was uninjured.
While police investigated, the westbound lane of Route 422 was closed for about three hours. That investigation continues, police said.
