Harold C. McDonald

Harold C. "Bus" McDonald, 78, of Alameda Road, formerly of Artlee Avenue, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at his home.

Born March 23, 1930, in Butler, he was the son of the late Richard E. Gilchrist and the late Thelma Milheim Gilchrist.

Mr. McDonald was a slitterman at Armco Steel for 35 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church, the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, the National Rifle Association and the AARP.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his daughter, Rebecca S. McDonald of Manning, Iowa; one brother, Charles R. and his wife, Judy, McDonald of Butler; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Brown of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores McDowell McDonald, who he married June 30, 1956, and who passed away July 12, 2008. He also was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

<B>MCDONALD</B> — Friends of Harold C. "Bus" McDonald, who died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Burrell of the Christ Community United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 N.
