Geraldine O. Master

Master

Geraldine O. Master, 85, of Perry Township, Parker, passed away Friday evening at the residence of her daughter in West Monterey surrounded by her loving family, following an illness.

Born in Perry Township, Clarion County, Oct. 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Chester R. and Cora E. Gallagher McCoy.

She was a lifelong member of Church of God, first at the former Dutch Hill Church of God; and then after the merger, she was an active member of Park Hill Church of God at West Freedom. She was one of the founders of the Monday Morning Prayer Group for the women of the church. She worked in the nursery for years, volunteered with day care and was always a member of the Women of the Church of God.

She was employed in the packaging department by the former Glass Containers Corp. of Parker for well over 20 years and she was also a member of the GMP Union.

She was a natural artist with various mediums of painting, and painted logging and circular saws with country scenes, far too many in number to mention. She enjoyed music; and in her late 50s, she decided to embark upon learning to play the piano.

Listening to music, decorating cakes she baked and watching boxing on TV were just many of her favorite pastimes. But her favorite pastime of all was spending quality time with her all the members of her devoted family.

Surviving are her daughter, Penny Master Larkin and fiance, Will Symonds, of West Monterey; two sons and wives, Wiley Jack Master and Sandy of Chicora and Rocky J. Master and Margie of Dutch Hill; and one sister and husband, Dorothy McCoy Anthony and John "Banjo" of Dutch Hill. Five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wesley "Skip" Master, who she married July 20, 1942, and who passed away Sept. 14, 2005. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wade McCoy, who passed in 1984 and Thomas "Tom" McCoy, who passed in 2008.
