Butler County players named hockey all-stars
Numerous Butler County players will be in action during the PIHL's annual all-star games Jan. 24 at the Ice Castle in Castle Shannon.
The Open class game will be played at 11:40 a.m. and features Butler seniors Tanner Master and R.C. Double. They play forward and defense, respectively, for Ford City.
Another Butler senior, Ford City goaltender Justin O'Donnell, is an alternate for that game.
The Class A game begins at 2 p.m. Butler County forwards in the contest include Jake Robash and Mike Mazzotta of Mars, Shane Gallagher and John Reichenbaugh of Freeport, and Shane Donnelly and Neal Donnelly of Knoch.
Defensemen include Tyler Whiteford and Steve Tracy of Mars, and Jeremy Hepler of Freeport. Goaltenders include Martin Lamneck and Tyler Steeke of Mars.
Coaching the Northeast team in the Class Agame is Rick Justice of Knoch, assisted by Tim Coleman of Mars and Pete Donnelly of Knoch.
The Class AAgame is at 4:20 p.m. and involves no Butler County players or coaches.
The Class AAA game is at 6:40 p.m. Forwards Logan Pfeffer and Mike Rohm of Seneca Valley will play for the Southwest team. Raiders coach Denis Kirstein will be an assistant coach on that squad.
