Sophia H. "Syke" Scott, 82, of Orchard Manor in Grove City, formerly of Forestville, passed away Tuesday at Orchard Manor.

She was born July 23, 1926, in Cherry Township. She was the daughter of the late Albert D. Causer and the late Sophia Helen Gardner Causer.

She was a member of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Bantam in Butler during World War II. She also managed the concession stand at Butler Memorial Pool for six years.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Schmiedlin of Ellwood City, Mrs. David (Patty) Regal of Forestville and Mrs. Bill (Donna) Miller of Seven Fields; a granddaughter, Kari Joyce; three grandsons, Shawn Regal and Tim and Steve Miller; a great-granddaughter, Abigale Regal; five great-grandsons, Brandon Scarborough, Kolton Cahall, Adam Regal and Dylan and Dustin Joyce; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Spencer of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Sam (Nellie) Brydon of Slippery Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester W. "Bud" Scott, who passed away April 8, 2001; one granddaughter, Tracy Scarborough; and one brother, Albert Causer.

<B>SCOTT</B> — Friends of Sophia H. "Syke" Scott, who died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Pastor Pamela Gardner, of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
