Valeria B. Wojtyna, 89, formerly of Highfield, died Sunday evening at her son's home in Noblesville, Ind., where she had been living.

She was born in Butler, Dec. 5, 1918, a daughter of the late Albin and Mary Krulicki Szostak. She had been raised by her father and stepmother, Helen Szostak.

She was an active member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and the Christian Mothers' organization. She also was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the Lyndora Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was the widow of Stanley J. Wojtyna. They had been married 69 years until his death on April 13, 2005. She was also preceded in death by three children, Stanley Wojtyna Jr., Maryann Wojtyna and Frances Zulick; and two brothers, Henry and John Szostak.

Surviving are a son, Vincent J. Wojtyna and his wife, Teresa, of Noblesville; a daughter, Bernice Radvinski (Mrs. Joseph) of Butler; and two sisters, Helen Zuzik of Washington, D.C., and Dorothy Washner of Export. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive her.

<B>WOJTYNA </B>— Friends of Valeria B. Wojtyna, who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. George Palick will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.A parish vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Additional information can be found and condolence messages placed at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
