MOVING EXPERIENCES

Homeowner Lynne Simon laughs July 26 as she watches Wolfe House & Building Movers transport the 120-year-old former Troutman house from its old location on Main Street in Butler to its new home at the corner of North McKean and East Penn streets. The move took five hours and attracted hundreds of observers on a hot Saturday morning. Lynne and her husband, Ray, bought the house from Armstrong for $1 under the agreement they move it. The result was a win-win situation as Armstrong was able make way for a new parking lot without demolishing the historic home.
