Vera M. 'Sis' Geibel
Vera M. "Sis" Geibel, 90, of Bonniebrook Road died Monday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1918, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester J. and Barbara M. (Lehnerd) Green.
She was a homemaker and mother and was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church.
Sis had enjoyed crocheting, reading, crafts, birdwatching and traveling with her children.
Surviving are five daughters, Bonnie Lou (James) Benninger of Valencia, Barbara Ann (Thomas) Davidson of Butler, Mary Ellen (Nathan) Leech of Florida, Sandra Lee (Richard) Conti of Ohio and Beverly Sue (Al) Miller of Saxonburg; a son, Ted (Janet) Geibel of Chicora; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Sister Mary Zita Green, O.S.F., of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Paul (Mamie) Miller of Chicora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair P. Geibel, who she married Nov. 29, 1944. He died March 14, 1994. A son, Gary Clair Geibel, six brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.
<B>GEIBEL</B> — Friends of Vera M. "Sis" Geibel, who died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler.
