Here's something for those on strike (anywhere) to consider. I just learned today that the corporation that now operates the plant that I retired from is asking the employees to work one day a week without pay. The salaried people probably don't have a lot of choice, they'll accept it because they are part of the "team." (that's a twenty per cent cut folks) I don't see the union people going for it. Likely they will call off one day a week figuring that if they are not getting paid there's no sense in going in. I guess business is that bad. This is not the same corporation I worked for, this installation was sold a few years after I retired. The products made there are not for sale to the public but are sold to other manufacturers that make plastic, paint, rubber and adhesives. That's correct, products that go into automobiles.There are other end uses, the adhesive tab in disposable diapers and the plastic film that your cereal comes in. My advice: have more kids and eat more cereal, save a job.
