Kenneth E. Knox
Kenneth E. Knox of Chicora, beloved father and grandfather, died of a lingering illness at 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Kenneth was born July 16, 1925, to Elbert J. and Kathryn (Kitch) Knox.
He was a 1943 graduate of Bruin High School and a World War II Navy veteran.
He had worked at the Bruin Lumberyard, and he retired in 1986 from Penreco as a supervisor in the hydrotreater section of the refinery.
Kenneth was a member of Karns City Methodist Church.
Kenneth Knox was married for 58 years to Maxine J. Knox until her death Jan. 5, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. Knox and his wife, Cheryl, of Karns City; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Whaley of Harrisburg and Mrs. Robert (Susan) Keys of East Berlin; five grandsons; a granddaughter; two brothers, Austin D. Knox of Bossier City, La., and Donald L. Knox of Bruin; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Autho) Black of Hamburg, N.Y., and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Barney of Bruin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>KNOX </B>— Friends of Kenneth E. Knox, who died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Visitation also was held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where funeral services followed at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Patricia Sawaya of the Chicora Medical Center officiating.
