Raymond Vane Herold

Raymond Vane Herold, 65, of 799 Morris Road, Sligo, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday at his home.

Born in Butler, April 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Raymond Norman Herold and the late BettyJane Phipps Herold.

He moved to the Sligo area from Butler four years ago and was a self-employed tattoo artist.

Mr. Herold was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Butler. He was a lifetime member of HOG, the Harley Owners Group, and the National Tattoo Association.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Ruth McConnell Herold, who he married April 11, 1964; three sons, and their spouses, Raymond and Vicky Herold of Kennerdell, Danny and Rochella Herold of Petrolia and Bud and Melanie Herold of Sligo; three daughters, Michele Herold and her fiance, Luca Laurenza, of New Castle, Ginger Patrick and her husband, Michael, of Butler and Donna Ruth Pedley and her husband, Charles, of Butler; a sister, Betty Coroian of Gibsonia; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two infant brothers and a sister, Donna Elaine Peters.

<B>HEROLD</B> — Friends of Raymond Vane Herold, who died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Varner funeral Home</B>, Sligo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Fisher, his church pastor, officiating.Donations may be made to Marjorie Herold, 799 Morris Road, Sligo, PA 16255.
