Jane K. Lorris
Jane K. Lorris, 92, formerly of Forest Heights Apartments, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Sentinel Pointe Independent Living facility, Grand Rapids, Mich.
Born Oct. 21, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Karl S. Kennedy and the late Frances B. McMurry Kennedy.
Mrs. Lorris was at one time a secretary at Butler Veterans Hospital but was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lorris was a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, the former Century Club, the A.A.R.P. and the Friends of the Library.
Mrs. Lorris is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Mrs. Nancy Jane Lorris and Thomas Barson of East Lansing, Mich., and Mrs. Robert (Carole Susan) Raffetto of Barrington, Ill.; one son and his wife, Mark Steven and Ann Lorris of Byron Center, Mich.; two grandchildren, Elisabeth Daily and Samuel Corl IV; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Hill of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lorris was preceded in death by her husband, Steven A. Lorris, who passed away June 19, 2001; and two brothers, Robert Kennedy and the Rev. Dr. Richard K. Kennedy.
<B>LORRIS </B>— Friends of Jane K. Lorris, who died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., with the Rev. Merry H.
