Dennis A. Watt, 71, of Evans City died Sunday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, University Drive, Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 24, 1936, in Lancaster Township, he was the son of the late Willis A. Watt and the late Inez (Trouterman) Watt Schuller.

Mr. Watt was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a machinist's mate aboard the USS Vulcan.

He had worked as a foreman at Halstead-Mitchell for many years. He also had owned numerous residential rental properties in Butler County and the surrounding area. Mr. Watt had been a domestic water-system installer and owned and operated Watt Drilling and HydroMech, a water well hardware supply company in Cranberry Township. He also owned and worked a number of oil leases in West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania.

He was an avid NRA supporter and Butler County History enthusiast.

He is survived by four sons, Gary R. Watt of Prospect, Thomas A. Watt of Harmony, Neil D. Watt of Princeton and Darrell J. Watt of St. Simons, Ga.; a brother, Willis "Bill" Watt of Warrendale; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David J. Watt, in 1998; and a brother, Jack Terry Watt.
