Irene S. Johnson
Irene S. Johnson, 88, mother of Mrs. Edward (Carole) Demmy of Butler, died Oct. 19 at the Autumn Hills Care Center, Niles, Ohio.
Mrs. Johnson served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was an instructor at Moffett Air Field in California, teaching aviators how to avoid capture and what to do if captured. She received her training at Hunter College in New York City.
Mrs. Johnson worked at Packard Electric, Warren, Ohio, and retired in 1982.
She is survived by two children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
<B>JOHNSON</B> — A memorial service for Irene S. Johnson, who died Sunday, Oct. Oct. 19, 2008, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Autumn Hills.
