The Bach Society will host its Christmas concert, "Love Came Down At Christmas" twice, once in Slippery Rock and once in Grove City.

The free concerts will be at 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock and at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 at Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Orchestra will perform a free concert at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway in the North Hills.The program, with participation from the PYCO Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Ensembles, will include works by Bach and Tchaikovsky and the world premiere of "Capricho for Clarinet" by Jorge Variego.Pablo Ardiles is the artistic director.Admission is free. NEW CASTLE — For the 18th season, Harry Cunningham of Butler will direct the New Castle Music Club Chorus' annual presentation of Handel's "Messiah," this year at 3 p.m. Sunday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St.A music educator in the Moniteau School District, Cunningham is also senior choir director at First English Lutheran Church in Butler.Singing with the group will be Butler resident and alto Camille O'Connor.The 68th annual concert is sponsored by the New Castle Music Club and the Greater New Castle Christian Ministerial Fellowship.The presentation is partially supported by the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, the regional art funding partnership of the state Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the state General Assembly.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The colorful history and folklore behind Pennsylvania's evergreens will be the topic of the program "Tree Traditions" at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528 near the intersection of Routes 8 and 173.Jennings is regularly open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and as scheduled on weekends.
