I am not only a concerned citizen but also a former employee of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I am having a difficult time admitting that I voted for any of the recent or current county commissioners.

There was the decision to build what has become a $40 million prison for our lawbreakers. Now the commissioners, to save money, want workers at Sunnyview to take pay freezes, give back sick days, and work short-staffed.

I agree the county needs to cut costs. Maybe the commissioners should look at some cuts at the courthouse, as well as in the Sunnyview administration, rather than the people who take care of our grandparents, parents and friends.

I would like to see the commissioners and Sunnyview administration lead by example when discussing the workers' contract. Maybe one commissioner with a conscience is better than three without.
