Army Spec.
Leif Miller, son of Thayer and Lindaflor Miller of Harmony, was deployed in August to Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 320th Military Police Battalion.He is a 2006 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, where he was a JROTC cadet commander.In October 2006, he completed basic and advanced training at the Army Military Police School, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where he was an outstanding pistol shooter. He then began training as a S.W.A.T. team leader.In 2007, he was assigned to a special forces airborne base in Italy. In 2008, he took ranger training and was hand picked as assistant leader of a small elite special response team of Army, Navy and Marine personnel under general command, the nation's first such unit, to conduct top secret missions in the Middle East.The Butler Eagle publishes awards or honors received by area residents in the Armed Forces.
