Jeremy Deighton scored on a header in the sixth minute of overtime Friday to give the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over 14th-ranked East Stroudsburg in the first round of the NCAADivision II Atlantic Regional tournament in Millersville.

The win was SRU's first in NCAApostseason competition.

With the win, SRU(14-6-1) will play the Millersville-California (Pa.) winner at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Deighton's goal was his team-leading 16th of the season. Toby Bowser and Mitchell Walters were credited with assists. It was Bowser's school-record-tying 15th assist of the season.

Greg Blum made seven saves in preserving the shutout.

Courtney Hoover scored two goals and Ashley Paganie had one goal and two assists to lead SRU to a 4-0 win over 24th-ranked Bloomsburg in the first round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional tournament in Erie.The win moved The Rock (14-6-1) into a 2 p.m. contest Sunday against host and 17th-ranked Mercyhurst.Juliana Howell also scored for SRU while Rock goalie Sarah Lacy had her first assist and added eight saves to the winning cause.

Knoch graduate Pam Gagen had 13 points and five assists, and Slippery Rock High graduate Lea Roth added 10 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead BC3 to a 43-36 victory over Anne Arundel (Md.) at Westmoreland County Community College Friday.The Pioneers (1-0) will face Corning (N.Y.) Community College Saturday.
