Gladys M. Cook
Gladys M. Cooper Cook, 75, of 706 Rebecca Ave., Grove City, died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday at Grove Manor after a six-month illness.
Born Sept. 29, 1933, in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of Homer and Cora Hogue Cooper.
She was co-owner of Langley's Smart Apparel in Grove City with her husband from 1976 to 2000.
Prior to that, she worked at H.W. Cooper Sandy Gravel of Slippery Rock.
She was a member of the Tower Presbyterian Church of Grove City.
She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1951.
She was active in her church, serving as a deacon. She was a member of church choir, The Sweet Adelines Singing Group, the church handbell group, the community handbell group and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She is survived by three children, Kenneth E. Cook and his wife, Sandra, of Butler, Kevin A. Cook and his wife, Margo, of Erie, and Karen L. Graham and her husband, Mitchell, of Wadsworth, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jonathan Cook of Erie, Zachary, Joshua and Rachel Graham, all of Wadsworth,Ohio, and Sarah Cook of Butler; two sisters, Shirley Martin and her husband, William, and Janet Lindey and her husband, Richard, all of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, who she married Aug. 14, 1953, and who died Sept. 29, 2007. Also preceding her in death was a brother, John Cooper.
<B>COOK</B> — Friends of Gladys M. Cooper Cook, who died Sunday,Oct. 12, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the E.J. Fithian Chapel of Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, with the Rev. John W. Culp officiating.Burial will be in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Worth Township, Butler County.
