Ed here are the arguments regardless of how many times you have heard them, its the same debate.

1. They are paid well for 9 months of work average salary 48-50 k.

(I dont know about you but that is not part time).

2.They took the job knowing duties just like everyone else takes a job and knows what is expected. (We just dont strike becuase we dont like are pay).

3.No one is saying teachers should not be paid well they are saying base it on each teacher.

(This is normal for every other prof. position, the other places this might be an occurence is in labor issues non-skilled).

4. If you are unhappy dont affect others by your greed or desire for more money..see #2.

Go on strike on your time in the summer, this does not affect students and does not cost tax payers. Oh I forgot they pay taxes too, but to what district they could live in slippery rock and strike in Butler.

5. That would give unions and board 3 months to come up with something.

The truth is they use the students to bargain there salary. Would I do it you bet.

Is it honorable to negotiate this way no. Its not fair.

The simple solution is ,,,yes do away with the union for all, pay teachers individually based on how they teach..seems fair. Or at least for the other 90% of workers out there it is.

Teachers would get paid very well and you could get the cream of the crop if that is what you really want.

But you dont, you want the luxury of the union and strike when you feel you want more.

There is no way I will ever agree with how teachers handle there money or job issues. Do it over the summer. No respect and I encourage students and parents to do the same, what the teachers do, disrespect your right to an education.

Of course thats if the students want one.
