Steve J. Durai
Poet Steve J. Durai, 86, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Butler, died Sept. 27.
He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Butler, the son of Egnac and Elizabeth Durai.
He was a retired factory representative and farmer.
In his younger years, Mr. Durai formed the St. Michael's Boys Club and played football, basketball and softball for the Butler Cubs. He also managed Butler Legion baseball in 1947. They had a record of 27 wins and seven loses with one tie.
He was a veteran who was in the Army in World War II.
Mr. Durai was predeceased by four sisters, Margaret Guus, Ann Kieskowski, Josephine Pascek and Mary Keiniski.
He is survived by his son, John; a daughter-in-law, Mary; and a granddaughter, Marie Harris.
