Tilly, you are absolutely right. The only time people think a strike is valid is if they are the people standing on the picket line. Teachers will never be appreciated for what they do because most people do not have a clue what your day/evenings/weekends involve.

How many people take work home every night and on weekends? How many attend classes yearly to keep their certification do do their job? How many have jobs that require continuing education? Probaly not many.

Most teachers get into the field because they want to make a difference and love to learn. Not for benefits, salary, easy days. It's not all fun and games.

To you complainers who have nothing nice to say about teachers, find something else to whine about. Your recollection of education is probably sitting in detention. You thought you knew it all then, and you think you know it all now.
