Julene Fabrizio, 59, of Mars died Sunday at her home.

Born in Pittsburgh, Feb. 15, 1949, she was the daughter of Charles Tarantini of North Huntingdon and the late Donna Litterini Tarantini.

Mrs. Fabrizio was a volunteer for a number of charitable causes, including Magee Women's Hospital. In 2000, she co-founded the Pittsburgh Division of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), an organization focused on education and awareness of ovarian cancer. Mrs. Fabrizio served as the national president of this organization from 2006 to 2008 and remained a board member until her death.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 36 years, William F. Fabrizio. She was the loving mother of Tim Fabrizio and his wife, Shelly, of Michigan and Gina Ermiger and her husband, Bill, of Mars; grandmother of Julia and Matthew Ermiger and Isabella Fabrizio; and sister of Charles Tarantini and his wife, Beth, of Monroeville.

<B>FABRIZIO</B> — Friends of Julene Fabrizio, who died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Blessing services will follow at 9 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
