St. Barnabas adds office space
GIBSONIA — St. Barnabas Health System has bought a building on Three Degree Road in Valencia.
Kathleen Brenneman, St. Barnabas spokesperson, said the health system bought the two-story, 9,000-square-foot building for office space for the St. Barnabas Charities and accounting department.
Those office are currently on the third floor of the St. Barnabas Nursing Home on the system's main campus in Gibsonia. The move will allow the health system to develop that space into assisted living apartments. She said it is unsure how many apartments will be developed.
"We plan on preserving the building in Valencia, just renovating the interior for 20 offices," she said.
The offices will be occupied by early 2009.
The building is across Three Degree Road from St. Barnabas' Valencia campus.
St. Barnabas, a Catholic nonprofit organization, provides all sorts of housing including carriage homes, apartments and nursing home beds, plus community medical care in Allegheny and Butler counties.
