James 'Ray' E. Kelly

James "Ray" E. Kelly, 82, 425 Howes Run Road, Sarver, Buffalo Township, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Aspinwall.

Born June 10, 1926, in Buffalo Township, he was the son of W. Earl and Clara M. Hess Kelly.

He was a brass molder at the former Shoop Bronze in Tarentum for 42 years. He retired in 1986.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, the Saxonburg VFW, the DAV Chapter 53 in Arnold, and White Star Club in Freeport.

He enjoyed gardening, working around the house and yard and hunting.

He is survived by two sons, Paul E. "Butch" (Mary Jane) Kelly of Jefferson Township and Edward R. Kelly and his friend Pam Ely of Clairton; three daughters, Darlene M. (Dennis C.) Roberts of New Kensington, Rene (Barry R.) Frye of Buffalo Township and Donna Lee (Ronald) Sadowski of Buffalo Township; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Black of Buffalo Township.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Young) Kelly on July 10, 1990; a brother, William Glenn Kelly; a sister, Ella Mae Kelly; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Rose Crownover.

<B>KELLY</B> — Friends of James "Ray" E. Kelly, who died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Duster Funeral Home</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alyce Weaver Dunn.Entombment will be in Mt. Airy Mausoleum, Natrona Heights, with military honors.The family suggests contributions be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave., Brackenridge, PA 15014.Information is at www.dusterfuneralhomeinc.com.
