Matthew Joseph Kapp
Matthew Joseph Kapp, 21, of Butler died suddenly Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1987, in Butler to Joanne and Fred Kapp of Center Township.
Matt was a 2006 graduate of Butler High School, and he had received academic awards and letters in track and soccer. He had attended Butler Community College.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church of Butler. He was an altar server for five years, a member of youth group service projects and a church league basketball player.
Matt was a member of the PAWest Soccer Association and served as a certified referee for five years. He loved the outdoors, and his interests included camping, boating, fishing, hunting, snowboarding and golf.
He was employed by British Motor Sales.
Surviving are his parents; his brother, Ethan Kapp of Gannon University; his grandfather, Ralph Kapp of Shippenville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Rotthoff of Pittsburgh; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Kapp of Shippenville.
