Todd Ellis

Todd Ellis recently received his Ph.d in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University. He completed his bachelor's degree in meteorology, physics and math at Penn State University followed with his master's degree in meteorology at Colorado State University.The title of Ellis' dissertation was Characteristics of Precipitation: CloudSat Observations and Model Predictions of Current and Future Climate.Ellis and his wife, the Rev. Allyson Ellis, moved to New York where he accepted a teaching and research position in the Department of Earth Sciences at State University of New York at Oneonta. As an assistant professor of meteorology he will be teaching meteorology and oceanography. He will continue working with Colorado State and NASA, serving as the outreach coordinator for the CloudSat (orbiting weather cloud satellite) Education Network and for the NASA GLOBE program. He recently received a subcontract from NASA through Colorado State University for a project titled "CloudSat." Ellis' project will involve working with teachers and students in relation to the CloudSat Education Network.He is the son of Bill and Linda Ellis of Renfrew and a 1997 graduate of Butler High School.———

<B>Allison Schnur</B> recently graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University.She is a 2004 Butler High School graduate and the daughter of Bill and Roberta Schnur of Butler.———<B>Matthew Van Arsdale</B> graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash.The 31 days of training provide professional training and evaluation for all cadets in the aspects of military life, administration and logistical support. Although continued military training and leadership development is included in the curriculum, the primary focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet's officer potential as a leader by exercising the cadet's intelligence, common sense, ingenuity and physical stamina. The cadet command assesses each cadet's performance and progress in officer traits, qualities and professionalism while attending the course.Cadets in their junior and senior year of college must complete the leadership development course. Upon successful completion of the course, the ROTC program and graduation from college, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, National Guard or Reserve.Van Arsdale is a student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg.He is the son of John and Susan Van Arsdale of Harmony and a 2005 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.
