Ashley H. Brockett III
Ashley H. "Bud" Brockett III, 58, of Evans City died peacefully at his home Monday after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 3, 1950, in Elderton, he was the son of Ashley H. and Rosella (Dunstan) Brockett.
Bud was an Army veteran and a past mechanic.
He enjoyed watching drag races and NASCAR. He also was a gun enthusiast and liked hunting, movie watching and bird watching and was a loyal husband and father with an amazing sense of humor.
He was a very compassionate man who had an unwavering faith in God.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce A. (Kirschler) Brockett, whom he married June 5, 1971; and four children, Mr. Ashley H. Brockett IV and his wife, Lori, of Texas, Mrs. Rebeccah Bingle and her husband, William, of Zelienople, Ms. Cindy Brockett and her fiancé, Jonathan Norris, of Butler and Mrs. Sara Sills and her husband, Christopher, of North Carolina.
He also is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Sandra Sadler of Virginia, Mrs. Melissa Walter of Georgia, Mrs. Holly Klink of Georgia, Tammy Kerchner of Mars, Mrs. Regina Schindler of Mars and Mrs. Jennifer Smolensky of Mars. Also surviving him are six grandchildren, Conner, Jesse and Evelyn Bingle and Jacob, Hannah and Joshua Brockett.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley H. and Rosella (Dunstan) Brockett; and a sister, Mrs. Susan Lanzino.
<B>BROCKETT</B> — Friends of Ashley H. "Bud" Brockett III, who died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Dreyer, pastor of White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, officiating.
