Folk musicians plan concert
Folk music group Simple Gifts will play in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Succop Theater on the Butler County Community College campus as part of the 2008-09 Performing Arts Series.
The group is made up of Linda Littleton, Karen Hirshon and Rachel Hall.
These three women will play 12 instruments and perform original arrangements of American and world folk music.
On Friday, the night before the performance, the Succop Conservancy will host a Monster Jam Session with Simple Gifts. Local musicians can take their instruments to play with the band or just listen to the music. The session is casual and open to the public. Admission is $5 and light fall refreshments will be served.
