The problem with leaving it up to parent is that it doesn't work. If it did, the US wouldn't have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the Western world.

You just don't want to face the facts. You live in a dream world where every family is like Leave it to Beaver. Guess what, the world isn't like that.

Yes, it would be nice if every child had parent(s) who cared about them. The fact is most marriages end in divorce. More parents play the blame game than take responsibility.

I agree with you, in a perfect world, parents would teach their kids. But this world is far from perfect.
