Charles E. Robison

Charles E. "Pete" Robison, 89, of Butler passed away Friday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler on Nov. 24, 1918, he was the son of Seth T. and Helen Elk Robison.

He was employed at Butler Armco as a premium clerk in the accounting department. He retired in 1980 after 40 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific.

He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member of the men's choir for more than 50 years.

He also was a Eucharistic Adorer at Saint Michael's Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie A. Zitalone Robison, who he married Feb. 11, 1949; two sons, John C. Robison and his wife, Robin, of Butler and Thomas A. Robison of Butler; three daughters, Patricia A. Miller of Butler, Mary Leyland and her husband, Michael, of Westerville, Ohio, and Therese M. Haley and her husband, Larry, of Butler; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly Kunselman of Ulysses, Pa., Amy Weisenstein of Slippery Rock, Jacob Robison of Washington, D.C., Joshua Robison of Sacramento, Calif., Jared Robison of Butler, Rachel Robison of Butler, Nathan Leyland of Garner, N.C., Michael Leyland of Blacklick, Ohio, Gregory Leyland of Gahanna, Ohio, Nicholas Leyland of Westerville, Ohio, Seth Robison Coyle of Butler and Laura E. Haley of Butler; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie Miller.

<B>ROBISON</B> — Friends of Charles E. "Pete" Robison, who died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>MARTIN FUNERALHOME</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.The Saint Paul Guild and the Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the Rosary.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Saint Vincent DePaul Society or to Butler Catholic School.
