Lois Jean Scott
Lois Jean Scott, 73, of Horner Road, Petrolia, passed away at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Clarview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, following a three-month illness.
She was born in Chicora, Aug. 26, 1935, and was a daughter of the late Hays R. Ace and Catherine Lowers Ace.
She was a Methodist and had attended the Chicora schools.
She was a Marine Corps wife for 22 years, living on and raising her family at Marine bases in Coronado, Calif.; Quantico, Va., and Sneads Ferry, N.C.
She married Blakney Scott July 28, 1956, in Chicora. He survives along with a daughter, Debbie J. Horner and her husband, John, of Parker; a granddaughter, Jaime J. Blystone of Parker; a great-grandson, Blake Alan Blystone of Parker; two brothers, Charles E. Ace and his wife, Mary Belle, of Bruin and Leonard P. Ace of Chicora; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
<B>SCOTT</B> — Private funeral services for Lois Jean Scott, who died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, will be held with Roger D. Whited, an elder and member of the Martinsburg Church of Bruin, officiating. Interment will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia.
