FOXBURG — Friday night's KSAC football game between Redbank Valley and A-C Valley almost was over before it started.

Visiting Redbank Valley, battling for first place in the conference, scored 27 points in the game's first 5½ minutes on its way to a 57-14 victory over the Falcons.

A-C Valley has dropped 30 straight games dating back to 2005.

Turnovers killed the Falcons (0-8, 0-8) in the opening minutes, as they lost three fumbles, including one that was returned for a touchdown.

"The turnovers killed us," A-C Valley head coach Gary Pinkerton said. "What's really surprising is up until last game (a 40-0 loss at Union), we really didn't turn the ball over a lot. We didn't fumble a lot and we didn't throw a lot of interceptions.

"But in turn, this week we had 16 kids in practice, so there was nothing live," he added. "It was all dummy work, and I think that caught up to us."

One thing A-C Valley never caught up with was Redbank Valley senior running back Alex Bladel, who had a monster game, picking up 207 yards and four touchdowns in just three quarters of play.

"He's just an outstanding running back," Pinkerton said. "He has done an excellent job the whole time he's been down there. Very honestly, we've struggled all year in containing people."

The game wasn't all negatives for A-C Valley. The Falcons were able to get two fourth quarter touchdowns against Redbank Valley's junior varsity squad, including a 4-yard run by Brent Hindman at the start of the quarter and a 40-yard run by Dillon Montgomery midway through it.

Montgomery led the Falcons with seven carries for 61 yards.

Walker had 15 totes for 58 yards, with most of those coming in the second half when he lined up at quarterback.
