The Joneses in 1948

Carl "Gene" and Virginia "Ginny" Jones of Chicora will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family dinner to be held later this year at the Kaufman House in Zelienople.

Jones married the former Virginia McCullough on Oct. 12, 1948, at a Presbyterian church in DuBois. Their wedding was officiated by Jones's uncle.

They have one daughter, Patricia Beck, of Butler.

They also have two grandchildren.

Jones is retired from Armco's metallurgy lab.

Mrs. Jones is retired as the Fairview Township secretary.

The Joneses were two of the first volunteers to serve Meals on Wheels to the Petroleum Valley. They are members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.
