Blackburn 50th anniversary

The Blackburns in 1958

Hugh "Skeeter" and Gail Blackburn of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage by skydiving Sept. 20 in Grove City before an open house.

Blackburn married the former Elizabeth Gail Davis on Sept. 26, 1958, at the Lutheran Church of Apollo.

They have three children, Hugh Blackburn of Baltimore, Diane Blackburn of Pittsburgh and Crystal Majeski of Council, N.C.

They also have three grandsons.

Blackburn is semi-retired as a mechanical and electrical engineer. He is a member of the Free and Accepted Masons 603 in Grove City and is an amateur radio enthusiast, call sign N3HB. He enjoys traveling.

Mrs. Blackburn has won national awards as a cake decorator. She also enjoys amateur radio and her call sign is AC3N. She is a member of the Associated Artists of Butler County. She enjoys oil painting, gardening and traveling.
