Feel free to throw things at me, Butler High football fans.

I deserve it.

I have to admit, I didn't think your team had much chance of beating Canon-McMillan last week. In fact, I felt the San Diego Chicken himself had a better chance of showing up at my door for dinner than the Tornado toppling the Big Macs.

But, there I was late Friday night, hiding my beak in shame — and the San Diego Chicken was nowhere to be found.

No more, my friends. I am a believer in all things Butler. Tornado, you are golden.

In fact, maybe you in Tornado Nation can help me improve my record this season. I have been, well, awful, as evidenced by my poor 6-4 showing last week.

Even the St. Louis Rams think I'm pathetic.

Here's my best guess for the games this week:

Butler 19, Shaler 14 — See. I told you. No more picking against Tornado Alley. This team is for real and will prove it by knocking off undefeated Shaler.•

Mars 25, Highlands 23 — In another section showdown, this could be a statement game for the Planets. The statement? One-and-oh in the section, baby.•

Seneca Valley 29, North Allegheny 26 — This could be the most entertaining game of the week.I don't see any team keeping up with the Raiders' high-octane offense for four quarters, including North Allegheny.•

Franklin Regional 19, Knoch 13 — Until the Knights can show they have some kind of passing game, I have to pick against them.•

Karns City 52, Keystone 8 — The Gremlins feast on more road kill.•

Moniteau 45, Union 11 — Jake Boy is the man!The Moniteau linebacker has 12 sacks in four games this season.Look out, Matt Gagliano.•

Slippery Rock 39, Reynolds 11 — The Rockets suffered a painful loss to SharonSaturday.The only pain that will be felt in this one will be coming from the Reynolds bench.•

Ford City 20, Freeport 11 — The Yellowjackets are a scary team because of their defense.But this has always been a scary matchup for Freeport. Ford City has had its number over the years. It will have it again.•

Punxsutawney 31, A-C Valley 12 — Punxsy is three times the size of A-C Valley.The Chucks will score three times as many points.•

Grove City 21, Greenville 11 — You know times have changed when even Greenville is passing the ball close to 20 times per game.Grove City has gone the other way with freshman quarterback Tyler Dagres. The Eagles went to the air just five times in their win last week.WithDwayne Martin and a slew of others carrying the rock, who needs to pass?•

Valley 31, Summit Academy 14 — It's good night for the Knights in this one.Scoop is 33-12 this season and is thinking about firing Lane Kiffin.
