FORWARD TWP — A violent head-on crash on a winding, country road killed a Butler County Community College student this morning — one day before she was to celebrate her 21st birthday.

State police are investigating the accident about 8:30 a.m. on Brownsdale Road, not far from Glade Run Road; authorities, however, did not immediately release the name of either driver.

The 20-year-oldwoman from Evans City died when her Plymouth Neon and a box truck collided just west of the Forward-Penn Township line. Butler County Coroner William Young IIIpronounced the woman dead at the scene.

He said she died of head, chest and other injuries. An autopsy was not conducted.
