It took three playoff holes, but Seneca Valley's duo of Matt Vogt and Connor McCaffrey were able to spark the team's 193-193 victory over undefeated North Hills Thursday at Cranberry Highlands.

The WPIAL tiebreaker is designed to send two golfers from each team to play two playoff holes.

Vogt and McCaffrey combined for an 11 on the No. 10 hole while the Indians' Ryan Fichter and Jack Ross carded a combined 8. At No. 11, The Raiders' duo had a 7 while North Hills had a 9 to send the match into a third playoff hole.

At No. 12, McCaffrey recorded a par and Vogt a bogey, while Fichter and Ross each bogeyed to give Seneca Valley to win.

"I've been to the playoff hole before, but this is the first time in this format, which changed a couple of years ago," said Raiders coachSteve Mayes. "The old format used to send your medalist out, mano a mano, but I like the way it is now."

The Raiders (6-2, 6-2) will play Pine-Richland at Treesdale Tuesday. North Hills fell to 7-1, 6-1.

JV Boys SoccerSlippery Rock battled Hickory to a scoreless tie as Tyler Little had 17 saves in goal. Slippery Rock defeated Grove City, 2-1, behind two goals from Braden Sloan, assisted by Cody Wolinski and Andrew Waryanka.The Rockets also JVs beat Mercer 3-0. Aaron Rockburn, Andrew Waryanka and Michael Stutz scored the goals. Brock Sloan had two assists and Braden Sloan had one.
