Bass tournament coming to 'Burgh
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh will host its second major national bass fishing tournament when the 2009 Forest L. Wood Cup Championship comes to the city July 30 to Aug. 2.
The event, which is run by FLW Outdoors, features a $2 million purse, including a $1 million first prize, and will feature 77 professional anglers.
The city hosted the 2005 Bassmaster Classic which drew 60,000 visitors to the city.
The Forest L. Wood Cup will be televised on the Fox network in the United States and overseas by Matchroom Sport.
