William L. McKee

William L. McKee, 67, of Rolla, Mo., formerly of Butler, died Tuesday at his home.

Born Jan. 16, 1941, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late William S. McKee and the late Dorothy Lucille Crawford McKee.

McKee worked for the Phillips Production Co. as vice president of operations, and he retired after 40 years. He was also the owner/operator of Renegade Charter Services Inc. with his wife and sons on Lake Erie for 12 years.

He served with the U.S. Army National Guard Unit in Punxsutawney.

Mr. McKee was very involved in the communities where he lived. He was a life member of the Summit Township Hunting and Fishing Club; a member of the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM; the A.A.S.R Valley of New Castle; the Syria Temple; the Summit Presbyterian Church in Butler, where he served as elder on several occasions; the First Christian Church in Rolla; the Ambassador's Class of First Christian Church; and the AARP. He also was a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 39 in Butler for nine years and for Concordia Lutheran Home for four years.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving family, which includes his wife, Barbara, at home; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Shawn and Deborah McKee of Fortville, Ind., and David and Deborah McKee of Rolla; four grandchildren, Luke and Brody McKee of Fortville and Emma and Anne McKee of Rolla; one sister, Saundra McKee of Manorville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Renee Skinner of Peachtree City, Ga.; and by other extended family members and many dear friends.

McKee, who died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Null and Son Funeral Home, Rolla.Friends and family will also be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Summit Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jonathan Evans of Summit Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Tim Cook of the First Christian Church, Rolla, officiating.
