George John Lorris, 79, of Aiken, S.C., died Monday at his home.

He was born in Butler and lived most of his life in Coraopolis.

He served in the Army from 1947 to 1948. He worked his entire career as a civil engineer for the Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co., Neville Island, and retired in 1987.

George was a longtime member of the Coraopolis School Board and the sanitary authority.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stelbotsky Lorris of Aiken; four daughters; seven grandchildren; and twin great-grandchildren.
