Frederick A. "Fred" Kretzler, 65, of Evans City died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born May 13, 1943, in Marshall Township, he was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Ruth McCommon Kretzler.

Mr. Kretzler was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Connoquenessing. He retired as a machine operator for BNZ Materials in 2002 and was a member of the American Brick and Glass Workers International Union.

Fred enjoyed hunting and bowling and watching baseball, Steelers football and all college sports.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Kretzler, whom he married Aug. 21, 1965; his daughter, Loretta L. Kretzler, and his son, Richard A. "Rick" Kretzler, both of Evans City; a brother, Robert Kretzler of Prospect; and a sister, Dorothy Lipp of Evans City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence "Dutch," William and Donald Kretzler; and a sister, Clara "Peg" Beadnell.

<B>KRETZLER</B> — Friends of Frederick A. Kretzler, who died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home, Inc.</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Brown, his church pastor, officiating.
