The funeral procession for Carl Butler, director of Butler County facilities and operations, stopped on Main Street in Butler in front of the Butler County Courthouse while a bell tolled about 12:30 p.m. Friday. County employees lined the street in front of the courthouse to honor their co-worker, who died Aug. 24 from injuries sustained in an Aug. 23 motorcycle accident on McCalmont Road in Butler Township. Led by eight motorcycle riders, the procession stopped at Diamond Park for about 30 minutes. Butler had been a county employee for 31 years, becoming department director in 1988.
