Lawson 55th anniversary
Edgar and June Lawson of Butler celebrated 55 years of marriage with a family picnic on the farm Aug. 8.
Lawson married the former June Baker on Aug. 7, 1953, at Thorn Creek Methodist Church in Butler.
They have seven children, Patricia Singer of Butler, Ginger Harbison of Butler, Paul Lawson of Butler, Barbara Yates of Taipei, Tawain; Mark Lawson of Bluffton, S.C.; Samuel Lawson of Butler; Rebecca Lawson of Manila, Philippines; and Luke Lawson of Hilton Head Island, S.C.
They also have 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Lawson is retired from Pullman Standard. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean conflict. Lawson is a lifetime resident of Jefferson Township and enjoys crossword puzzles and Boggle.Mrs. Lawson, as a homemaker, enjoys gardening.The Lawsons are members of the Butler Assembly of God.
