The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has provided this report on the Aug. 11 New Wilmington livestock auction.

CATTLE 204 — (Slaughter steers sold 2.-3. higher; breaker cows sold 1.-2. higher; boner and lean cows sold mostly steady.)

Steers — Choice 1-3, 1150-1510 lbs., 91.50-95.75; select 1-2, 1150-1450 lbs., 85.-91.; standard 1-2, few, 925-1000 lbs., 75.-78.

Holstein steers — Choice 2-3, few, 1285-1425 lbs., 76.50-78.; select 1-2, few, 1100-1450 lbs., 71.-75.50.

Heifers — Choice 1-3, 1180-1375 lbs., 91.75-95.; select 1-2, few, 1125-1450 lbs., 85.-88.50; standard 1-2, few, 1000-1500 lbs., 79.50-80.

Cows — Breakers 75-80 percent lean, 60.-68., high yielding 69.-75.; boners 80-85 percent lean, 58.-65.; lean, 85-90 percent lean, 52.50-58.50. Shells 50.50 and down.

Bulls — Yield grade 1, few, 1215-1590 lbs., 71.50-75.50; yield grade 2, few, 925-1630 lbs., 67.50-69.

Feeder cattle — Steers — One, large 2, 800 lbs., 79. Bulls — Large 3, 235-300 lbs., 70.-81.; two, medium 3, 670-700 lbs., 74. and 79.

CALVES 123

Vealers — Standard and good, 70-100 lbs., 30.-45.; utility, 50-75 lbs., 17.50-25.

Farm calves — No. 1, Holstein bulls, 90-120 lbs., 80.-120.; 85-90 lbs., 50.-70.; No. 2, 80-120 lbs., 45.-82.50. Two, No. 1, Holstein heifers, 90 and 95 lbs., 540. and 570.; few, No. 2, 80-95 lbs., 250.-400. One, beef cross bull and heifer, 140 lbs., 55.
