David L. Braham

David L. Braham, 96, formerly of 5 Davis Lane in Mercer, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at Woodland Place, Mercer.

Born in Harrisville, Jan. 9, 1912, he was the son of William P. and Mina King Braham.

He retired from McCandless Ford, Mercer, and had owned and operated a service station in Harrisville and Slippery Rock.

Mr. Braham was a former member of the Harmony United Presbyterian Church of Harrisville.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Shamrock Golf Course for many years. He also was an avid bowler and bowled in Slippery Rock in various leagues.

Surviving are three children, Myrna Lee Vallely of Jackson Center, Judy A. Roxburry and her husband, Tom, of Linesville and Charlene McCandless and her husband, Bill, of New Wilmington; a daughter-in-law Susie Braham of Harrisville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Sara Elizabeth Buchanan Braham, who he married Aug. 22, 1936, died March 28, 2002. He also was preceded in death by a son, David William Braham; three brothers, Francis, Carl and Charles; and three sisters, Edna, Eleanor and Ruth.

<B>BRAHAM </B>— Friends of David L. Braham, who died Sunday, July 13, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Hines, pastor of Norrisville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at PrairieCemetery, Harrisville.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
