Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will welcome the Rev. William Jamieson as guest preacher for the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday. Jamieson is the retired pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Evans City.Vocalist Leanne Heaton will provide special music for the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday. The Berean Sunday school class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will meet at 4:30 p.m. Friday at King's Family Restaurant, 191 New Castle Road, for dinner before going to the Baptist Youth Center for a devotional and games.The church is sponsoring a sporting clay shoot at 9 a.m. Saturday at Castlewood Rod and Gun Club in Princeton. The Rev. Doug Strang of Port Allegany will be the devotional speaker.The Rev. Alan Wilson, acting director of Remnant Ministries in Cleveland, Ohio, will be the featured speaker at Sunday's 10:55 a.m. service. The senior youth at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., are planning a trip to the drive-in Tuesday and are seeking a chaperone willing to drive. They will leave the church at 8 p.m.Those going to the Pirates game are to meet at 11:45 a.m. Sunday at the Greater Butler Mart.

Faithful Friends, the women's group of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kairos Cafe, 249 New Castle Road, for fellowship and planning. Women of all ages are welcome.Holy Communion will be shared at the services at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday. The church will welcome its new vicar, Cinda Brucker, who will begin her year of internship on Friday.Trinity youth has set up a corn stand in the church parking lot. It is a self-serve cart with an honor system money box. A portion of the profits will be used for the youth trip to New Orleans in 2009.Registrations for Children's Hour, which meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, are now being taken. Children who will be 2 years old on or before Dec. 1 and those up to kindergarten age are welcome. Glorybound will provide special music Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township.Volunteers from Trinity will serve the community meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's United Presbyterian Church.A church picnic will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lion's shelter in upper Alameda Park. The shelter is handicap accessible and is located behind the pool. Meat and dessert will be provided. Participants should take a covered dish to share, table service and beverage. Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, Sarver, will collect small toiletries, sports bags, duffel bags, and backpacks for August's Prison Outreach Ministry. Kid's and teen's puzzle books are also needed.Monetary donations will be collected for inmate disciple Bible study books and workbooks.
