Jennie F. Cowley
Jennie F. Cowley, 91, of Trinity Living Center, Grove City, formerly of New Castle, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday at the center.
Born in New Castle Sept. 29, 1916, she was the daughter of Donat and Mary Anna Wytulewitz Szeszko.
She had attended a little one-room school at Princeton, near Ellwood City. Jennie was a homemaker and previously worked at United Cotton Goods in Griffin, Ga.
She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and vegetables, knitting, crocheting, needlework, quilting and socializing with neighbors.
Mrs. Cowley was a member of the Mt. Chestnut Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, Ga. Locally, she attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Grove City.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest R. Cowley, of Trinity Living Center, whom she married April 21, 1935; a daughter, Karen Lee Gregory of Smyrna, Ga.; two sisters, Anna Cline of New Castle and Rose Marie Cole of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Gregory; four brothers, Daniel, Peter, Paul and Benjamin Szeszko; and three sisters, Maryanna Price, Elva Gentsey, Virginia Szeszko.
<B>COWLEY</B> — Friends of Jennie F. Cowley, who died Sunday, July 6, 2008, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Peters, pastor of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Princeton Cemetery, Lawrence County.
